Extensive Courtroom Experience

Lisa began her career with the State Attorney’s Office in Citrus County, where she prosecuted misdemeanor and felony cases before being promoted to a felony docket handling serious offenses ranging from drug crimes and theft to attempted homicide. She also handled domestic violence and sex crime cases early in her career.

She later entered private practice at Militello & Militello, PA, where she handled criminal defense, civil litigation, wills, family law, and dependency matters. During this time, she served as Treasurer of the Citrus County Bar Association and Treasurer of the Citrus-Hernando Inn of Court. Lisa subsequently opened her own practice, continuing to represent clients in criminal defense, civil litigation, family law, wills, and dependency cases, including work as Regional Conflict Counsel.

Returning to public service, Lisa served again with the State Attorney’s Office in both Citrus and Hernando Counties. Her responsibilities have included:

  • Juvenile Prosecutor, making critical decisions on whether cases remain in juvenile court or are filed as adult charges

  • Intake Attorney, determining whether criminal charges should be filed

  • Misdemeanor Supervisor, training and mentoring new prosecutors

  • Felony Prosecutor handling cases from theft to armed drug trafficking

  • Prosecutor assigned exclusively to sex crimes and crimes against children

Currently, Lisa prosecutes all crimes against children and sex crimes in Citrus County.

In addition to her courtroom work, Lisa teaches law enforcement officers at Withlacoochee Technical College on child sex crimes, adult sex crimes, child abuse investigations, and court preparation.

Deep Community Roots

Lisa moved to Florida’s Fifth Judicial Circuit while in law school in 1999 and raised her two children in Citrus County. Her son, Christian, is a Citrus High School graduate and an apprentice lineman. Her daughter, Samantha, is a Citrus High School graduate, a University of Tennessee graduate, and a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army currently stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas.

Judicial Philosophy

Lisa believes that cases must be decided based strictly on the law — not personal opinion, politics, or outside influence.

Her mission as Judge will be to:

  • Provide fair and just resolution of disputes in accordance with Florida law and the Constitution

  • Deliver impartial decisions in an efficient and timely manner

  • Treat every person in her courtroom with dignity, courtesy, and respect

With experience on both sides of the courtroom, extensive prosecutorial leadership, and deep ties to the community, Lisa Yeager is prepared to serve with integrity, fairness, and a steadfast commitment to the rule of law.
